Drexel Hill, PA – Senator Thomas J. McGarrigle and State Representative Jamie Santora are hosting an Identity Theft Prevention fair on September 12, 2015.
McGarrigle and Santora want to inform their constituencies of the dangers and prevention of identity theft. During the event, constituents can utilize an industrial shredder that will be available on site to obliterate any sensitive documents with valuable information.
Identity theft is a form of consumer fraud in which a person wrongfully obtains and uses someone else’s personal or financial information. Unfortunately, it is a crime that is growing. The Federal Trade Commission estimates that 9 million consumers have their identity stolen each year.
The Pennsylvania State Police, Delaware County Sherriff’s Office, and Delaware County District Attorney’s office will also be in attendance.
