Happy New Year!

I would like to wish everyone in the 26th Senatorial District a happy and healthy New Year, and plenty of success throughout the year!

Nominating the Senate President Pro Tempore

1/5/16 - Nomination of Senator Joe Scarnati for President Pro Tempore

I was honored to second the nomination of Senator Joe Scarnati of Jefferson County to serve as Senate President Pro Tempore, the third-highest ranking elected official in the Commonwealth. Senator Scarnati was re-elected with a unanimous, bipartisan vote.

SEPTA Senior Key Photo Day

I hosted SEPTA officials in our District Office to help make it easier for senior citizens to obtain the new SEPTA Key Senior ID Card. As SEPTA prepares to introduce its new, modern fare payment and collection system – SEPTA Key – I want to assure seniors, age 65 years or older, that they will be able to continue to ride free at all times on all SEPTA transit services (bus, Market-Frankford Line, Broad Street Line, trolley and the Norristown High Speed Line). Regional Rail fares for seniors will continue to be $1 for rides within the State of Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania residents, age 65 years or older, who possess either form of state-issued photo ID, are automatically eligible to participate in SEPTA’s Seniors Ride Free Program. There is nothing to sign up for, and valid (unexpired) Driver’s Licenses or state-issued IDs can be swiped at the turnstile or onboard a vehicle. Senior riders who do not want to use their PA Driver’s License or state-issued ID card can register and have their picture taken for the new, free SEPTA Key Senior ID card.

Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program Seminar

This is a free seminar on the Pennsylvania Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program that will help you understand what documents are needed for the rebate application.
