TOMORROW: Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program Seminar

On Feb. 4 at 2 p.m., I’ll be hosting a free seminar on the Pennsylvania Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program that will help you understand what documents are needed for the rebate application.

It will be held at the Easttown Library, 720 First Avenue in Berwyn.

The seminar will also provide an opportunity to schedule an appointment with our staff in March to help you fill out and send in your application directly to the Department of Revenue. Assistance is also available throughout the filing period in my District Office.

Please RSVP to Nick Cocco at 610-853-4100 or ncocco@pasen.gov.

The 2015 Legislative Year in Review

I was honored to have been elected last fall to represent Pennsylvania’s 26th Senatorial District, which includes parts of Chester and Delaware counties.

My staff and I work hard for the middle-class families in our district to serve as their voice in the State Senate and help them cut through the red tape and bureaucracy at state agencies. This year, I’m anxious to continue working with my colleagues to keep our communities safe, improve our education system, and keep a watchful eye on Harrisburg’s spending.

As the second year of the 2015-2016 legislative session gets underway, I wanted to provide you with a 2015: In Review. In addition to an outline of the legislative process and my committee assignments, the Review includes a recap of events throughout the district. These include our Cyberbullying Seminar Series, Kids Expo, Identity Theft Prevention Fair and our Senior Expo.

I hope you take a few minutes to read through this publication, which includes valuable information on what my office can do for you. I’m looking forward to continuing to serve as your State Senator with respect, integrity and community involvement.

SEPTA and Local Officials Cut Ribbon for 69th Street West Terminal Project

The 69th Street Transportation Center is a multi-modal facility, serving passengers on SEPTA’s Market-Frankford Line, Norristown High Speed Line, trolley Routes 101 and 102 and 18 bus routes. Renovations at West Terminal include:

  • Reconstructing pedestrian ramps to terminal platforms, the North and Center Platforms and canopies and Center Platform waiting area
  • Partially reconstructing the South Platform
  • Replacing track and road surface
  • Enhancing safety and security efforts by installing cameras
  • Furthering SEPTA’s commitment to sustainability by incorporating design features, including a green wall and green roofs to reduce storm water drainage; energy efficient LED lighting; and architectural elements in the passenger waiting area that will allow for increased natural light and reduced energy use.

The $19.6 million 69th Street Transportation Center West Terminal Improvements Project was part of SEPTA’s “Rebuilding for the Future” capital program. The work was funded through the Federal Transit Administration Bus and Bus Facility Livability Grant Program and Pennsylvania Act 89.
